NORWEGIAN ACTRESS

Norwegian Actress Nominated for Emmy Award

Anneke von der Lippe is the first Norwegian actress ever to be nominated for an Emmy Award.

Von der Lippe is nominated for her role as Minister of Health in the Norwegian TV-series “At the King’s table”.

The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences each year awards prizes in a number of categories and Von der Lippe is nominated as “Best actress in a drama series.” The other nominees are from China, Brazil and the United Kingdom.

"It’s incredible that small Norway is nominated as one of four countries from the whole world. I congratulate Anneke and all the people who have worked on the TV-series," said the head of the drama section in the Norwegian Broadcasting Corportation, (NRK), Hans Rossine.

Except from the U.S., which has its own Emmy Awards, countries from the entire world are competing for the prestigious International Emmy. The award ceremony will be held in New York November 21.
